In February 2014, NFC signed a contract with KAZ Minerals for the Kazakhstan Bashaku Copper Concentrator Project, which is located in the east of Ekibastu, Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, about 230 km away from Nursultan City, the capital (formerly Astana City). This is the largest concentrator project in the history of the Company. The project owner is the largest copper producer in Kazakhstan and the 10th largest in the world. The ore resources of Kazakhstan Bashaku Copper Concentrator Project are 1.2 billion t, and there are two concentrators, namely, the sulfide ore concentrator with an annual processing capacity of 25MTA and the 5MTA clay ore concentrator. The main contract contents of NFC include the supply of equipment and materials, equipment installation and civil construction. Construction was commenced in March 2014, the sulfide mine was successfully put into operation in November 2015, and the clay mine was successfully put into operation in September 2016. In 2015, the President of Kazakhstan awarded the Best Industrial Project?Golden Eagle Quality Award.
