On April 18th, NFC president Wang Hongqian met with the British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Mike Gifford and his delegation composed of Embassy officials and heads of renowned British companies, and conducted in-depth and friendly talks on advancing collaboration of NFC and British partners in Kazakhstan.
Mr. Wang first accompanied the delegation to visit NFC show room, introducing NFC’s values and international business development. Mr. Wang highlighted NFC’s operation in Kazakhstan, represented by KAS Aluminum Smelter, KAZ Minerals Bozshakol Copper Concentrator, Aktogay Copper Concentrator and petrochemical projects.
Impressed by NFC’s achievements and Mr. Wang’s pragmatic introduction, H.E. Gifford exchanged further ideas on NFC’ experience on developing along the routes of Belt and Road before and after the launching of BRI. As the sixth largest investor in Kazakhstan, UK has around 500 companies operating in the country, emphasizing on collaboration in sectors like energy and mining. The framework of China-UK Infrastructure Alliance and China’s resultful practice of BRI provide a solid foundation and a promising starting point for Chinese and British companies’ collaboration in Kazakhstan, by which a mutual-beneficial three-party cooperation model can be established to promote the socioeconomic development for local people.
