By governmental invitation, Mr. Wang Hongqian, president of NFC, paid a visit to Magadan Oblast in Russia from September 16-19. Mr. Vladimir P. Pechenyi, governor of Magadan, welcomed NFC delegation and discussed with Mr. Wang comprehensively on strategic cooperation on nonferrous metal mining and equipment manufacture industries. At the end of this resultful meeting, the two parties signed a framework agreement of cooperation. During the four-day visit, Mr. Wang also visited Mr. Vladimir I.Mitkin, president of Magadan Parliament. Mr. Mitkin was optimistic on the great potential of cooperation between Magadan and NFC, as well as expressed his solid support to NFC. Located at north-eastern Russia, Magadan Oblast is one of the largest and most mineral resource-rich oblasts in this country. Mining industry accounts for 60% of its total production, and there is only 5 days of voyage from Magadan port to Dalian in China.
